A YEAR OF LAUNCHING

By the time I’m 40insert long list of things I just knew I’d have done by now. Like  the stunning gallery show or the board game. Then there’s the instrument I’d learn, and the e-course I’d launch, and… (Yeah, I meant it when I said that list is long!)

Well, that once far-off December day has finally come, and although I’ve started many of those projects, I haven’t finished any of them!

I could say it’s been moming 5 kids 24/7 for the last 16+ years, managing our household, and running multiple businesses with my husband, but the truth is that those sneaky-ass, self-doubting, fear-based thoughts got the best of me.

Not anymore! I’m saying f*ck-off to all those self-limiting beliefs by finishing what I’ve started. No more putting off and procrastinating, no more of the endless scroll watching other creatives do their thing, and no more distracting myself with a shiny new e- course (or laundry).

It’s time to show up for myself in the same way that I show up for others.

So, I’m celebrating the first year of my 40s with a year-long commitment to completing and launching the big ideas and creative projects that have been left on read for way too long. I’m calling it Fuck Yeah, Forty!

So, I’m celebrating my 40th birthday with a year-long commitment to completing and launching big ideas and creative projects, aptly titled Fuck Yeah, Forty!

And I’m an artist — that’s the one thing I’ve always been certain of.

Until now, I’ve been a perpetual procrastinator, putting my goals and dream projects on the backburner while I tended to the needs and responsibilites of work and family.

I always thought I’d be a successful full-time artist by the time I turned 40. And although my work is as a creative, and I’ve done many things I’m proud of, I’m now ready to fully commit to pursuing fine art.

I started this lovely lady a few years ago in a portrait drawing class at the New York Academy of Art. Her soft layers of graphite and charcoal have been a joy to work on. With just a few more details to go, I’m starting with this stunner for a quick and satisfying win!
